The World Beach Project

tiny shells in a line on the beach

The V+A is running an interesting project on their website:

Devised by Sue Lawty in association with the V&A.

The World Beach Project is a global art project open to anybody, anywhere, of any age. Building on the experience many of us have of making patterns on beaches and shorelines, this project combines the simplicity of making patterns with stones with the complexities of shape, size, colour, tone, composition, similarity and difference.

You can find out more here. I think i'll be heading down to the beach to take part in it- let me know if you do too.

I'll be back to write more about both my mini-rant and my book quest soon- it's been interesting reading the recommendations and comments people have made about both posts. I've now placed a huge order for books and am formulating more thoughts on my ranting.
