M.A.D. art - making a difference

Call for submissions (deadline July 31st)

from the Mind website:

As part of our 60th anniversary celebrations, we want to celebrate the creativity of mental health service users and survivors across England and Wales in our M.A.D. art - making a difference installation project.

The project was the idea of Peter Beresford and is led by people with experience of mental distress. We also consulted over 50 mental health service users/survivors from diverse backgrounds to gather ideas and inspire the installation. This information has provided valuable direction to structure the project.

We want your artwork!
To celebrate speaking out for 60 years, we are inviting anyone who has experienced mental distress to contribute artwork to the installation based on their own experiences. We want the installation to show as many different experiences as possible, so find out how you can be involved (PDF file) and spread the word to your friends and family. The installation will be exhibited at the Truman Brewery in London in September 2007.

M.A.D. art - making a difference has hired lead artist, Monika Dutta to the project. Monika is a very experienced artist who will help to bring together all the contributions into a united installation.
