C is for...

For the C's I have picked three artists that I discovered via reading other people's blogs, or in the case of one of them, from googling my own name...

C is for
Carson Ellis

I'm not sure whose blog was the first one to lead me to Carson Ellis, but since I first discovered her website i've seen other people mentioning her work. I love the simplicity of the line drawings and the soft colours used in the water colour pieces. I especially love the fact that via her blog I am treated to a new image pretty much every day. You can buy Carson's work from the excellent Motel Gallery if you are lucky.

Camilla Engman was someone I discovered whilst searching for myself online one day! By now I think pretty much everyone in the blogosphere is familiar with Camilla's work, but back when I first approached her about exhibiting in the gallery I had only seen the paintings on her website. I was charmed by the painting of her dog Moran, and asked her if she would be interested in showing in the UK. When the time came we had a beautiful exhibition featuring several paintings and a selection of her paper works. (The one pictured just had to come home with me at the end of the show.) You can buy work by Camilla in her shop or read about her artful life on her beautiful blog

C is for Lisa Congdon

Lisa Congdon is another person that I discovered via blogging, and someone who seems to be pretty well known amongst arty crafty bloggers. I only discovered art blogs relatively recently (having been stuck in the world of livejournal for years) and it's been a great way to get to see new work by artists you might not otherwise come across. You can buy Lisa's work via her own shop, or if you are lucky you might be able to pick up some pieces at Doe, where she recently showed with her sister. Lisa also has work in a wonderful looking show at Artstream gallery (home of the amazing Susan)

What a brilliant idea for a blog feature!!! alphabetical artists - I love it and cannot wait to see all the spectacular talent here. I am so behind with blogging and blog reading and having just caught up realise that you tagged me - so I shall be getting onto that this week! Hope all is well!
