Project 365

I'll be posting the odd photo from Project 365 on here, but if you want to see each and every day I take a photo of then they will all be posted over here, on my old livejournal. I think i'll try and do a weekly mosaic of my photos over here because i'm sure some days they won't be photos that worth seeing and I don't want to fill this journal up with a million (ok 365+1) photos that aren't very interesting. Hopefully i'll do better at this daily project than i've done at Crafting 365.

Studio Shot Tuesdays

It's been a while since i've been organised enough to actually take a photo in my studio on a Tuesday, so here you go with me showing off the lovely lace parasol that my friend gave me, whilst skillfully avoiding showing you the true carnage of the room. (Actually i'm sure you get the idea from the small section you can see).

And while we're at it, here's today's entry for the Crafting 365 project:

I've been unpicking and ironing this today. It's a piece of vintage embroidered table linen that I screen printed a blue tit on. I had sewn it onto a pillow case, but I decided that it worked much better as a piece in it's own right, hence the unpicking.

I made some badges

It's been a while since Aaron's mum gave me these stamps, but this week I finally got round to making something from them. I turned a whole bunch of stamps into 1" badges (for sale here) and it was only when I came to look them up on the internet so I could add to the descriptions that I discovered some of them were very old indeed- so far the oldest I have dated is from 1875.

I love how these look all together in a group, the colours compliment each other wonderfully- all slightly muted. My favourites have to be the stamps from The Netherlands:

Now I just have to sit tight and hope I don't discover that i've destroyed something priceless...

Last night at the opening for his show Mark Pawson was making balls out of postcards, and he taught me how to do it- this is my construction made out of Cafe Kino postcards- I think they should hang it in the window of the cafe. Mine was a little flimsy- but the one's Mark made were amazing:
