Mini breaks and Mini Eggs

Jan 23rd

I took this photo the other day as part of my attempt to take a photo a day for the whole year. This was a last minute photo taken whilst I was munching my way through a tub of mini-eggs. I love how this photo came out, and so do lots of other people too it seems- I don't think any of my Flickr photos have ever had so many comments on!

I can't believe I haven't posted all week- I thought that once the crit and presentations were out the way I would be back blogging with abandon, but it seems that I needed a few days off from life on-line and instead I have been reading books about Gypsies, playing with my nephew and
visiting my friends.

Talking of friends I recieved an email from my friend Gaina that included some of these amazing images:

It's the work of Danish artist Peter Callesen and not, as an email that seems to be doing the rounds suggests, part of a competition at Hirshhorn Museum. Seems like this email has been circulating for a while now, which makes me wonder- why? Thanks for the email Gaina- I do love the papercuts, even if they don't appear what they seem.

Duh! This is what happens when you reply before you've read the blog properly. I didn't know the true source and neither did the person who sent it to me it appears. I'm going to send her that info now as I'm sure she'd like to see the real artists' website.

Isn't Peter Callesen just great? My sister-in-law-to-be put me onto him about 2 years ago and I've been following his work ever since. MAN would I love to be able to think up stuff like this ...

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!
